Humans are social beings, and we all love to spend time with our loved ones. I have made the experience, when we are hanging out with the people we care about, we tend to do the same things at every gathering. To do the same stuff all the time can be exactly what your relationship is about, but it might get a little boring over time. Today I want to share some great ideas with you on how to turn those meetups into fun adventures.
Board-/ card game evening
When I was younger every now and then my dad would get together with friends to play board- and card games. After moving out I continued his tradition with my own friends.
Ask your buddies to bring their favorite games so you can all enjoy a great time together, strengthen your relationships and get to know new games. To accompany the program, you could serve snacks for you and your guests.
Spend time in nature
Why not enjoy some valuable time in nature together, while moving your body? Going for a walk by yourself can be quite boring, while sharing the experience with other people you can discover amazing things in nature, explore new paths or simply talk about anything which comes to mind. So why don’t you relocate your next get-together with friends outside or change sitting in your room with your best friend to going for a walk?
Take a day trip
When my friend Lucy visited me in Austria three years ago, my friends and I had a lot of fun showing her our home country by taking different day trips. While tourists for sure can be an inspiration to get to know our own country it certainly does not have to be the only reason. If you neither have a big budget nor much time to go on holiday, taking a day trip is always a great option. Most cities or countries offer regional voucher cards to tourists and citizens to explore hidden treasures you would never have known about otherwise.
Visit an event
Twice a year St. Pölten has a huge design market very close to my home and even if I would not mind going alone, I find sharing the experience with a friend is much more meaningful. If there is an event nearby, which you would love to visit, ask your friends if they would like to come with you to enjoy it together.
Decluttering party
If you have ever decluttered your home before, you know it is no easy task to do on your own. Over the last two years a friend of mine and I developed the habit to simplify both our homes every major holiday. Turning it into a fun party quickens the process and gives you the opportunity to spend some quality time with the people you love.
How you organize them is completely up to you. Usually, I ask people to bring their favorite games or ingredients to the party.
If you want to find out more about meals you can serve your guests or events themed around food in general check out this post.
Have you ever tried any of these ideas? Or do you have some more to add to the list? Tell me in the comments or send me an email. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Nothing is stopping you and your friends from having a great time now. So, let’s start planning!
